Recipes

You might be wondering what the heck this is doing on a Halloween site.

Well, Halloween is about parties, and parties definately need food. Here is a collection of some of my personal favorites:

Basics:

Tomato Sauce: A fantastic base sauce for pretty much all situations.

Salads:

Marinated Tomatoes: A super simple, extra easy “salad” to take to your next pot luck.

Finger Foods:

Korean Style BBQ Beef: Beef kabobs perfect for finger foods, or appetizers. Heck, the recipe works for chicken and pork, too.

Spiced Pickles: A pickle that denies explaination. Just trust me, they’re good.

Main dishes:

General Uno’s all purpose orangy oriental chicken: As strange as it sounds, a mixture of my two favorite oriental chickens, tweaking the orange juice can yield more of an Orange chicken, or more of a General Tso’s flavor.

Unorthodox Chicken Tikka Masala: Indian dish made easy.

Miscellaneous Treats:

Caramel Corn: Soft, buttery caramel great for popcorn balls.

Peanut Brittle: Nothing quite like fresh peanut brittle. Enjoy.

English Toffee: A nice, rich, buttery English Toffee.

Sugar Cookies:THE best sugar cookie recipe there is. I’ve won baking competitions with this one.

Nuts and Bolts: The best party mix out there, and it comes in wonderful fall colors just for Halloween!

Monster Cookies: A wonderful cookie to get the kids involved in the making process.

Favorite products:

World Harbors Buccaneer Blends: SUPERB line of BBQ sauces.

  1. You use a lot of paper mache. What do you do to about inclement weather? Do you store props from year to year? Thanks

  2. Yes, we love mache here.

Most of my items are only out for a few days around Halloween, and many survive the weather just fine. I have only had 1 real casualty due to rain, and it would have likely survived if it had been allowed to dry before being placed in storage.

We store everything just in an outdoor shed.
